The metaverse has been active with record deals non-fungible tokens (NFTs) including land in the past few days. The latest jaw-dropping deal is the purchase of a mega yacht known as Metaflower in the Sandbox virtual space at a staggering $650,000. It is the most extravagant NFT deal in the Sandbox metaverse, a virtual world created on the ethereum blockchain.

The four-storeyed yacht, created by metaverse developer Republic Realm, has two helipads, with two virtual helicopters being sold separately, multiple lounges, a Jacuzzi, and a dance floor. The Metaflower is an extension of the expensive no-existent project, through which many luxurious assets will be launched in the future. The Fantasy Project will feature jet skis, speedboats, marinas, private islands, and beach clubs.

The extent of the metaverse's fame became noticeable when non-existent assets started selling like hotcakes for eye-popping prices. The Sandbox is one of the most renowned metaverse games. It is linked to popular brands including Adidas, Atari, Snoop Dogg, Deadmau5, The Smurfs, amongst others.

In September, the celebrity American rapper, Snoop Dogg, announced that he had scooped up some luxurious property in the Sandbox metaverse. The star unveiled a 'Snoopverse Land Sale' on December 2 enabling investors to buy real estate next to the rapper's virtual property.

The virtual plot next to Snoop Dogg's was purchased at 71,000 SAND approx. $400,000. SAND is the in-game crypto of the Sandbox metaverse. A buyer, known as 'P-Ape,' owns various sought-after non-fungible tokens and is acknowledged as a collector.

Republic Realm has also created 'Fantasy Islands,' a set of 100 private islands with non-existent villas created on fantasy real estate. The islands sold out on the first day of their launch for 63.9 ETH approx. $280,000.

According to nonfungible.com, the Sandbox recorded the highest weekly sales numbers in the last seven days, with 4,433 sales totaling $70 million. During the same period, land sales sold at 14-15 ETH per plot, about $61,500 - $69,000 per plot.

Virtual real estate is increasingly becoming popular with brands and connoisseurs. The metaverse has established a new universe of prospects for influencers and brands to grow their outreach and promote consumer relations.
